Police Arrest Man With Fake Amarnath Yatra Card

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday apprehended an individual at Baltal for attempting to enter the yatra route using a forged Yatra Registration Card.

The accused, identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal and a resident of Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district, was found in possession of a fake registration document during routine verification at a security checkpoint.

According to officials, the accused had fraudulently obtained the forged card in an apparent attempt to bypass mandatory security procedures.

The incident has prompted swift legal action, with FIR No. 13/2025 registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sonamarg. A detailed investigation is currently underway.

Meanwhile, the police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or persons attempting to use fake or invalid Yatra registration documents.
