SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that any regime change through external aggression is a violation of international law, stressing that it is for the people of Iran to decide their own government.
He also appealed to the people in the Union Territory to express any grief or solidarity peacefully.
“The principle is clear. Regime change through external aggression is illegitimate and violates international norms. Only the citizens of Iran have the right to determine their leadership,” CM Omar said.
Chief Minister also urged students from JK currently in Iran to stay in constant touch with the Indian Embassy there for safety updates and follow the protocols issued by the diplomatic mission. (KNS)
