PDP leader Hanjura expresses gratitude to LG Sinha on reopening of tourist destinations in J-K

Srinagar, Feb 17: Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader and former minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Tuesday expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha over the decision of reopening closed-tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly Yousmarg and Dodapathri which were closed after the incident of Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025.

In a statement, PDP leader said that though the decision has been taken very late and all the stakeholders like poniewalas, hoteliers, transporters and labourers have suffered a lot during the last year due to closure of these tourist places.

He welcomed the decision of reopening of tourist destination, stating it has given a sigh of relief to all the concerned people who are dependent on these tourist places for their livelihood. He has also thanked all stakeholders including political and social activists who raised the issue of reopening of these tourist areas.

The PDP leader urged the Lieutenant Governor-led administration to take a decision to reopen other tourist places like Tosamaidan as early as possible.
