Srinagar, Jul 12: PDP today held a workers’ meeting in Islam Yerbal ward of Habba Kadal zone.
According to a press note, the meeting was chaired by PDP General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Alam and attended by other leaders including Arif Laigroo, Dr Ali Mohammad, and others.
During the meeting, Tufail Ahmad Bhat was unanimously elected as the Ward President for Islam Yerbal.
Addressing the workers, Mohammad Khursheed Alam urged party cadres to gear up for the PDP Foundation Day on July 28, stressing the need to intensify grassroots connect and strengthen the party’s presence in Srinagar.
Arif Laigroo took a strong dig at the National Conference (NC) and local MLA Shamima Firdous, accusing them of completely neglecting the people of Habba Kadal. He highlighted the worsening issues of water scarcity, broken lanes, and the recent unjustified hike in electricity fees, calling it a “complete failure of governance.”
Dr Ali Mohammad also addressed the gathering, urging party workers to begin preparations for the upcoming Municipal elections. He emphasised the importance of public outreach at the group level and mobilising support by highlighting PDP’s commitment to civic development and people’s welfare.
