Kupwara: Former minister and General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Advocate Abdul Haq Khan, on Sunday visited Lolab Valley and held a workers’ meeting at Zab Khurhama in the Lolab constituency.
The meeting witnessed the participation of a large number of party workers and local residents, who gathered to discuss various political and public issues concerning the area.
Addressing the gathering, Khan criticised the National Conference (NC) government, alleging that it has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people despite receiving a significant mandate in the elections. He said the government has not been able to effectively address the concerns and demands of the public.
The former minister further claimed that the NC-led administration has “completely failed” in redressing public grievances and resolving day-to-day issues faced by people in various areas, including Lolab.
Khan urged party workers to strengthen the PDP at the grassroots level and maintain close contact with the public. He said the party has always worked for the welfare of the people and remains committed to addressing their problems and grievances.
During the interaction, several local residents raised their issues and concerns with the PDP leader and sought his intervention for their resolution.
Meanwhile, party workers and local residents extended a warm welcome to Khan during his visit to Lolab and expressed hope that the issues highlighted during the meeting would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action.
