Pass resolution against US-Israel aggression on Iran: MLA Budgam

Jammu, Mar 27: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legislator Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi on Friday demanded that the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly pass a resolution condemning the alleged US-Israel aggression against Iran, asserting that it would reflect the sentiments of the people of the region.

Speaking outside the Assembly, MLA Budgam said the hearts of Kashmiris were deeply wounded and drew a parallel to the martyrdom of Imam Khomeini.

“The hearts of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are wounded in the same terrifying manner in which Imam Khomeini was martyred. We will try to find a way to heal these wounded hearts,” the MLA Budgam said.

Mehdi stressed the need for a formal resolution, stating that his remarks were an expression of public concern.

“We want a resolution to be passed so that the emotions of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are translated into words. We also want to send a message from here that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are protesting against American and Israeli terrorism,” he said.

The legislator said they would raise their voice at every forum, maintaining that opposing what he called a “bully-based world order” was a matter of justice and a human demand.

“When someone is in trouble, we help them. Iran is in the hearts of Kashmiris, and Kashmiris are in the hearts of Iranians. We want to give them a message that they should not consider themselves alone in this trouble,” Mehdi added. (KNS)
