SRINAGAR: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, led by its Chairman and BJP MP Brij Lal, on Monday visited Dal Lake near SKICC on a boat as part of its 10-day study visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

The panel also visited the tourist destination of Gulmarg on Sunday and is on a routine tour to assess public grievances, policy implementation, and tourism development in the Union Territory.

Speaking to media in Gulmarg, BJP MP Brij Lal said they are in Kashmir for the committee’s annual study visit. “We will hold discussions with the J&K government and public sector bodies on various matters, including public grievances and tourism,” he said.

He added that the ongoing influx of tourists reflects the improved situation in the region. “The normalcy I observed here, along with the number of tourists arriving, indicates that peace is returning to Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Sources told KNO that the committee is expected to meet various stakeholders during the remainder of its visit. (KNO)
