The Lok Sabha saw repeated disruptions on Wednesday over references to books, beginning with Opposition protests against Rahul Gandhi’s insistence on citing an “unpublished” book by former Army chief MM Naravane, opposed by Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
Fresh uproar followed when BJP MP Nishikant Dubey quoted from books targeting the Gandhi family, prompting the Chair to invoke Rule 349 to stop him. Opposition MPs protested, seeking Dubey’s suspension and alleging double standards, leading to multiple adjournments. Protests intensified at 5 pm, forcing the House to be adjourned for the day.
