Para Seeks Suspension of SRO 305, 176 in Assembly | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA from Pulwama, Waheed ur Rehman Para, on Wednesday called on the Jammu and Kashmir government to keep SRO-305 and SRO-176 of the new reservation policy in abeyance until the reservations are properly rationalised.

Speaking to Kashmir Life, Para said the government should suspend the new Social Welfare Department orders until the census is completed and reservations are restructured. He added that doing so would automatically restore 70 per cent of opportunities to open merit.

The MLA highlighted that currently, 60 per cent of Jammu and Kashmir’s population is left with only 40 per cent of opportunities, which he said undermines merit and fuels discontent among the youth.
