Jammu, Jul 14: A day after Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra- 2025 (SANJY-2025) crossed another milestone of two lakh mark with in eleven days of its commencement, 13th batch of 6143 pilgrims embarked on Yatra from Jammu based camp at Bhagwati Nagar on Monday – July 14, 2025.
“With Baba Amarnath Ji’s blessings, the holy pilgrimage has crossed the 2 lakh mark today. This is a sacred journey of lifetime and I welcome all the devotees to discover and experience the divinity. Har Har Mahadev!,” the office of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha posted on ‘X’ on Sunday (July 13, 2025) evening.
LG Sinha is also chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
On July 8, Yatra, within six days of its commencement, had crossed one lakh mark. The pilgrimage would culminate on August 9, 2025. The annual Yatra formally commenced on July 3 from twin traditional routes of Pahalgam and Baltal to the holy shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
On the eve of its formal commencement, LG Sinha had flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on July 2 morning. Meanwhile, a fresh (13th) batch of 6143 pilgrims left from Yatri Niwas – Jammu base camp amid multi-layered security on Monday (July 14, 2025) morning.
As per officials, in a heavily guarded convoy of 235 vehicles, including 132 buses and 69 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs), a total of 4691 male, 1248 female devotees and 17 children besides 167 Sadhus and 20 Sadhvis left Yatri Niwas base camp at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. 2215 pilgrims comprising 1646 men; 507 women; 5 children; 44 Sadhus and 13 Sadhvis departed for Baltal axis at 3.30 am, in a cavalcade of 100 vehicles, including 44 buses and 45 LMVs.
3928 pilgrims, who opted to undertake pilgrimage through the Pahalgam route, left Bhagwati Nagar base camp in 135 vehicles, including 88 buses and 24 LMVs at 4 am.
These pilgrims included 3045 males; 741 females; 12 children; 123 Sadhus and 7 Sadhvis.
