One dead, two critically injured in Poonch Kallai road accident

Poonch, Feb 28: At least one person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries on Saturday morning when a goods-laden truck met with an accident in the Kallai area of Poonch district.

According to sources, a goods truck travelling from Jammu to Poonch went out of the driver’s control at Kallai and plunged into a deep gorge. As a result, one person identified as Maqsood Ahmad, a resident of Sathra Mandi, died on the spot.

Two other occupants, identified as Sajjad Ahmad, a resident of Seedi, and Mohammad Zahoor, a resident of Fatehpur Mandi, were seriously injured. They were later shifted to District Hospital Poonch with the help of local residents and police, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Hospital authorities stated that after completing the necessary legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family, while the injured remain under treatment.

Police have registered a case in this regard and initiated an investigation.
