Northern Army Commander visits Rajouri LoC sector after infiltration bid foiled

Rajouri, Mar 5: A day after Indian Army troops foiled an infiltration attempt on Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri sector area, Army Commander Northern Command visited the area and commended the troops for high state of morale and professionalism under challenging conditions.

Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, was accompanied by General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps Lt Gen PK Mishra and other senior army officers.

As per army, Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited Shahsitar area located in hinterland of Poonch district as well as Hanjanwali on LoC in Rajouri district. The visit, army said, was aimed to review prevailing security situation and ongoing Counter Terrorism Operations.

The Army Commander was briefed about the intelligence grid and focused operational capability enhancement measures, vital for sustained operations in a complex security landscape. The Army Commander commended the troops for their high state of morale, professionalism and steadfast dedication under challenging conditions, army further stated.

The visit has come just one day after Indian Army’s Gambhir Battalion and Hanjanwali Battalion troops foiled an infiltration attempt on Line of Control (LoC) near Thul Phara village of Rajouri sector on Wednesday morning after a group of three to four heavily armed terrorists attempted to infiltrate from LoC but their attempt was foiled and group was pushed back.
