SRINAGAR: The Food Safety Team, headed by the Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety Kupwara, conducted a thorough inspection of restaurants across North Kashmir’s Kupwara town on Wednesday, following directions from the Deputy Commissioner.
The drive aimed to evaluate hygiene standards, cleanliness protocols, and overall food quality offered to the public. Kitchens, storage facilities, food preparation practices, and waste disposal systems were thoroughly examined, while restaurant owners and staff were sensitised on maintaining strict hygiene to ensure public health and safety.
Operators were directed to comply with the latest government food safety guidelines, which were shared during the inspections for immediate implementation.
The Assistant Commissioner confirmed that such drives would continue across main markets in Kupwara in the coming days, urging food business operators to follow best practices, maintain transparency, and prioritise consumer safety.
