LEH: Ladakh has witnessed a complete restoration of normalcy, with uninterrupted internet services, regular functioning of schools and colleges, smooth public transport, and the revival of civic life across the Union Territory. Authorities said the lifting of restrictions was made possible due to the people’s responsible behaviour and cooperation with the administration.
Chairing a high-level security review meeting in Leh today, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta expressed satisfaction over the prevailing calm and order in the region. He praised the coordinated efforts of the civil and police administration, security forces, and above all, the people of Ladakh, for their collective role in maintaining peace and harmony during what he described as “challenging times.”
“The people of Ladakh have shown exemplary patience, maturity, and unity,” Gupta said, noting that their sense of responsibility had been instrumental in restoring normal life swiftly. “The restoration of normal life is a clear reflection of the people’s faith in the administration’s commitment to ensuring safety, stability, and inclusive growth,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor also underlined the deep sense of nationalism that defines Ladakh’s social fabric. “Ladakhis are among the most patriotic citizens of our nation, who have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the country in safeguarding national interests,” he said.
Gupta urged citizens to continue cooperating with the administration and participate actively in Ladakh’s development journey. “We are committed to equitable growth across all sectors — education, health, infrastructure, and employment — with special emphasis on youth empowerment and sustainable tourism,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed that the administration remains “fully committed to addressing public concerns in a transparent and people-centric manner,” while urging citizens to remain vigilant and continue to support the rule of law.
The security review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG CRPF P.R. Jambolkar, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, Commanding Officer 79 Battalion, Sanjay Kumar, and other senior officials.
Directing the officials to maintain close coordination among departments, Gupta emphasised the need to sustain the peaceful environment and ensure continued public convenience.
Officials said the situation across Ladakh remains stable, with normal life and administrative functions operating smoothly, marking a positive turn after a period of heightened security vigilance.
