
Srinagar, Apr 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday informed the House that there was currently no provision for live streaming or video recording of sports trials and selection matches conducted by the Youth Services and Sports Department across Jammu and Kashmir.
Replying to a question raised by BJP MLA Devayani Rana, the Minister in-charge of the Youth Services and Sports Department said that, as per existing norms, trials and selection matches at the state and district levels are not streamed live or recorded on video.
However, the government clarified that for official purposes, designated photographer is deployed to capture images during the conduct of trials.
The minister further stated that the department ensures that selection trials, conducted prior to participation in national and district-level championships, are carried out in a fair and transparent manner under the supervision of experts in the respective disciplines.

The Department observers are responsible for overseeing the entire selection process and addressing any concern on the spot”, the reply said.
On the possibility of introducing live streaming or mandatory video recording of trials and selection matches for public viewing, the government said that no such policy has been adopted so far. However, it added that the department will explore the feasibility of implementing such measures in the future.
