Rajouri, Jan 31: Member Parliament Lok Sabha from Anantnag-Rajouri, Mian Altaf Ahmed has stated that those resisting establishment of National Law University in Kashmir have no justification and their act is weakening the country.
He said that everyone should take up with the Government of India to sanction another Law University, as this practice was followed earlier and two different units of a premier institute were used to be sanctioned in J&K to maintain regional balance.
Interacting with mediapersons during his visit in Rajouri, MP Mian Altaf Ahmed said that the controversy related to establishment of National Law University in Kashmir is highly unfortunate. “It’s unfortunate to see that we are putting Jammu and Srinagar against each other and this act will weaken the nation instead of strengthening it.” he said.
“Infact there is no justification behind protests of objecting establishment of NLU in Kashmir,” he said. The Member Parliament further advised that everyone should stress that there are separate Law University be sanctioned for Jammu and Kashmir so that one is established in Jammu province and the other one in Kashmir province and the regional balance is maintained.
“It has been done earlier in case of all the premier institutes in order to maintain regional balance.” he stated. The MP while condemning the incidents of attacks on Kashmiris in different parts of country called for immediate intervention of Home Minister.
