National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has released an advertisement for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The position is under the ANRF-sponsored project titled “Seamless Transition between Grid-Forming and Grid-Following Modes in a Grid-Tied Solar Photovoltaic System”.

As per the official notification, the initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension up to three years based on performance. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 plus 20% HRA for the first two years and ₹42,000 plus HRA from the third year. Eligible candidates can also register for PhD as per the institute’s rules.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5. Additionally, a Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech) in a related field such as Power Electronics, Solar Energy, or Renewable Energy with similar academic performance is required. SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 55% marks or CGPA 6.0.

Candidates must have qualified GATE and been selected through a national level exam such as CSIR-UGC NET, DST, DBT, DRDO, or equivalent.
