SRINAGAR: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has successfully concluded the admission process for the 2025 batch of B Tech students, with over 871 candidates admitted across eight engineering disciplines between August 20 and 24, a statement issued by the NIT said.

Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. B.A. Mir, said the admissions were conducted professionally and transparently. “Out of the 899 allotted quota, NIT Srinagar admitted more than 871 students this year. Our teams worked tirelessly from 8 AM to 8 PM to ensure a hassle-free experience for students and parents,” he said. He lauded the efforts of the admission staff, Associate Deans, ERP officials, and other supporting departments, and noted that the institute had achieved a record admission of 231 candidates in a single day.

Prof Mir said the smooth process was made possible through the coordinated support of the Dean Student Welfare, administration, and essential services, including the Health Centre, Sanitation, and Security. “Even the Registrar and In-charge Director personally inspected the admission process, which boosted the morale of our teams,” he added. He also announced that the final round of counselling for the remaining B.Tech seats under JoSAA/CSAB will be held on August 28, alongside Ph.D. admissions. The postgraduate admissions were conducted earlier on August 18 and 19.

In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, congratulated the newly admitted students and praised the efforts of the academic teams. “The admission process was conducted with utmost efficiency and transparency. We are committed to enhancing infrastructure, laboratories, and student facilities to offer a vibrant academic environment that promotes innovation, research, and holistic development,” he said.

Institute Registrar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, also expressed satisfaction with the conduct of admissions. “The seamless process is a testimony to the collective effort of the institute. Our priority was to provide a student-friendly environment, and we are glad parents have appreciated the services,” he said.

Parents too praised the arrangements at the institute. Mujeeb Khan from Jaipur, whose daughter secured admission in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, said the entire process was smooth and all facilities were available under one roof. Dr. Seerat from Srinagar, whose daughter joined Civil Engineering, lauded the professionalism of the staff, while Balwan Singh from Rajasthan, whose son entered Mechanical Engineering, said the coordination from documentation to counselling was “beyond expectations.”

With most of the allotted seats already filled, NIT Srinagar has said it will continue to streamline its admission procedures, making them more efficient and student-centric in the years ahead.
