August 28,2025: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a new initiative called Project Aarohan to help the children of toll plaza employees pursue their education. The scheme, announced by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, aims to reduce financial barriers and provide equal opportunities for quality education to students from economically weaker backgrounds.
NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said that Project Aarohan reflects the organisation’s commitment towards the welfare of toll plaza employees and their families. He added that the scheme is designed to nurture young talent who will contribute to the country’s future growth.
Under the project, around 500 students from Class 11 up to the final year of graduation will receive an annual scholarship of ₹12,000 during the financial year 2025-26. In addition, 50 bright students aiming for postgraduate and higher studies will be provided a scholarship of ₹50,000 each.
The application process will take place through an online portal. Students will be required to submit documents such as academic records, income proof, caste certificate and ID proof to apply.
