SRINAGAR: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been partially restored at Tharad, Udhampur, where single-lane traffic continues due to uneven road conditions and intermittent rains. Traffic Police Headquarters Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday said light motor vehicles (LMVs) will be allowed to ply one-way from Srinagar towards Jammu tomorrow, September 17.
LMVs will be permitted from the Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) between 6 am and 11 am, subject to fair weather and road clearance. No vehicle movement from Jammu towards Srinagar will be allowed.
The department said slow movement was observed on Tuesday and commuters were urged to maintain lane discipline to prevent further congestion.
For routes connecting Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban, LMVs from Jammu will be allowed from Nagrota between 7 am and 10 am, while vehicles from Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban must cross Nashri Tunnel before 10 am.
Traffic on Mughal Road, Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road, and Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road will continue under regulated timings depending on weather conditions and clearance by the concerned agencies, the advisory added.
