Srinagar: The “New Criminal Laws Exhibition,” organised by the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) at JK Police Public School, Bemina, continues to draw strong public response as it entered its second day on Friday. Students, concerned citizens, and members of civil society turned up in significant numbers to attend the event.
The three-day exhibition, inaugurated on September 11 by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, has been designed to raise awareness about the newly enacted criminal laws viz. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.
Officials said that while the opening day saw more than 4,000 students and civil society representatives attending, the second day added another 1,500 visitors from diverse backgrounds.
Informative displays and interactive sessions are being used to promote legal literacy and encourage informed civic engagement.
The exhibition will conclude on Saturday, September 13, with organisers inviting the general public to participate in the closing ceremony.
The Economic Offences Wing in the meantime expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and participants for their continued support in making the initiative a success.
