NC Working Committee Meets in Srinagar for 2-Day Deliberations | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The National Conference on Wednesday commenced its two-day working committee meeting at the party headquarters in Nawa-e-Subah, with party president Farooq Abdullah chairing the session. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and several senior leaders are attending the deliberations.

Party sources said that the meeting will focus on organisational matters and review the broader political situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq said the working committee has been convened to discuss prevailing circumstances and internal issues. He said a formal statement will be issued after the two-day discussions conclude.

When asked about a possible organisational expansion or leadership changes, Sadiq said such decisions rest with the party leadership and are taken at an appropriate time. He added that the decision-making process is ongoing, remarking that only the Chief Minister knows when and how to make his prorogation.

NC leader Abdul Majeed Larmi said that Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has also been invited to the meeting, adding that it remains his choice whether to attend.
