Eligibility Criteria of NHM J&K Vacancies

Psychiatrist (Specialist)	MBBS with MD or DNB in Psychiatry or equivalent degree recognised by NMC	Up to 65 Years

Candidates must be residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. All medical qualifications must be recognised by the National Medical Commission or J&K State Medical Council.

Remuneration

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 85,000 per month.

Selection Process

Selection will be done based on merit and Viva-Voce. The marking system is as follows.

PG Degree	20 Marks
Viva-Voce	20 Marks

Marks for MBBS will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Terms and Conditions

The appointment is purely on a contractual basis. The initial contract will be valid up to 31st March of the financial year in which the selection is made. Extension of the contract will depend on satisfactory performance and approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Preference will be given to candidates from the concerned district. District-wise merit lists will be prepared. If eligible candidates are not available in a district, divisional merit will be considered. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease as per requirement.

Submission Particulars

Applicants must submit complete documents including Date of Birth certificate, Domicile certificate, MBBS and PG mark sheets, and registration certificates verified by the National Medical Commission or J&K State Medical Council.

The last date for submission of complete documentation is 26 February 2026. Applications received after the due date will not be entertained. Candidates are advised to visit the official NHM J&K portal for application forms and office addresses in Srinagar and Jammu.
