Musical tribute to Kargil Martyrs held at Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh

Rajpura, July 27: A moving musical evening titled “Timeless Melodies” was organised at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, on July 26 to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas.

As per the statement, the event was a collaborative effort by Swar Sadhana, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, and featured soulful renditions celebrating the spirit of monsoon and honouring the bravery of India’s Kargil martyrs.

Curated as a tribute, the program blended emotion, music, and patriotism. Hosted by Pandit Vinod Pawar, the evening saw a range of classical and contemporary monsoon-themed songs performed by talented artists.

The event was moderated by Vikrant Seth, Vice President of the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi. Dr. Garima Thakur, Deputy Director of Aryans Group of Colleges, represented the institution and was also honoured during the programme.

The audience included a wide array of prominent guests such as Sudesh Sharma (President, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi), Rajesh Atri (Secretary), Architect Shikha Verma, Advocate Rajeev Sharma, Dr. Amit Gangani, Shivani Verma, and several other citizens, artists, and cultural figures of the region.

The performances opened with Jaspreet Kaur’s evocative “Sawan ke jhoole pade”, followed by Akash Pundir’s popular “Aaj mausam bada beimaan hai”. Shivani Angrez rendered “Nainon mein badra chhaye”, while Atul and Priyanka presented a lively duet, “Chha gayi ghata, baahar aa ri hai duty”.

Other highlights included Aarti’s soulful “Kajrare badra”, Jannat’s “Jade karein saawan ki baatein”, and Khushi’s melodic “Ae hawa ae ghata, kya tujhe hai pata”. Jaspreet Kaur returned with “Haay haay ye majboori, ye mausam aur ye doori”, followed by Atul and Priyanka’s touching “Megha re megha re”.
