MP Chaudhary Ramzan – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: Rajya Sabha MP Chaudhary Ramzan on Thursday said there is no rift within the National Conference and that party MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi remains aligned with the leadership and its objectives.

Speaking to reporters after a felicitation ceremony marking his appointment as Additional General Secretary of the NC, Ramzan said internal differences relate only to approach. He said they do not reflect any division in intent or direction. He described Aga Ruhullah as a young leader who wants faster outcomes, adding that political processes take time.

Ramzan said he met Aga Ruhullah during the recent Parliament session and found him fully in sync with the party line. He said Ruhullah is not opposed to the party or its leadership and shares the same goals, despite differences in method.

On engagement with the Centre, Ramzan said the NC has already submitted a memorandum of demands to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said the Home Minister has assured the party that the demands will be addressed. He added that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will meet Amit Shah soon to take forward discussions on related issues.

Rejecting claims of delay by the Centre, Ramzan said only a short period has passed since his meeting with the Home Minister. He said there is no deliberate delay and such matters require time.

Ramzan also said he will attend a meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Port Blair as a committee member. He said key issues will be discussed at the meeting.

On party organisation, Ramzan said NC workers remain active across Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed the need for wider outreach and direct engagement. He said he plans to visit remote areas to meet workers and understand their concerns.
