SRINAGAR: A mother and her son were injured after a gas cylinder leakage caused a fire in the kitchen of their house in Gagren village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday.
Officials identified the injured as Suhail Ahmad Teli, son of Abdul Hamid Teli, and his mother, Fatima Begum, both residents of Gagren. The incident occurred when an LPG cylinder reportedly leaked, triggering a sudden fire inside their home.
Locals and family members immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where doctors said their condition is stable despite sustaining partial burn injuries.
Authorities have advised residents to regularly inspect LPG connections, including pipes and regulators, and to maintain proper ventilation while using gas stoves to prevent similar accidents.
