
SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday welcomed the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing it as a positive step towards peace.

He also praised the resilience of the Iranian people and leadership during the conflict and extended congratulations to Iran and all stakeholders, including Pakistan, for facilitating the ceasefire.
Expressing hope for the future, he said the development should pave the way for lasting stability and increased dialogue.
Notably, the United States and Iran have agreed to a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire, with delegations from both sides scheduled to meet in Islamabad on Friday for their first direct diplomatic engagement.
