SRINAGAR: A minor boy was apprehended after allegedly attacking two persons with a sharp-edged weapon at the parking area of Government Railway Police (GRP) Station Banihal on Sunday.

Officials said that, the incident this evening a 16-year-old boy, resident of Anantnag, allegedly stabbed two individuals, Radif Subzar of Qazigund and Altaf Ahmad Khan of Kaskoot Banihal, with a small knife, causing injuries to both.

Both the injured sustained stab wounds to their abdomen. They were immediately shifted to SDH Banihal for treatment, where Radif Subzar was treated and is stated to be stable, while Altaf Ahmad Khan was referred to GMC Anantnag for advanced treatment and is currently admitted there.

Police said the accused was apprehended on the spot and taken to Police Station GRP Banihal. During preliminary questioning, he reportedly disclosed that he had boarded the Baramulla-Sangaldan train from Railway Station Anantnag and deboarded at Banihal.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 02/2026 under sections 109 and 117(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station GRP Banihal, and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
