Minor Girl Killed in Leopard Attack in Awantipora

SRINAGAR: A tragic incident was reported from Midoora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday when a minor girl lost her life in a leopard attack.

Local sources said the victim, identified as Tanzeela, daughter of Roshan Khan, was attacked while in the vicinity of her home. She sustained critical injuries in the attack and succumbed soon after.

The incident triggered shock and grief in the area, with locals expressing concern over the growing movement of wild animals in human habitations.

A Wild Life official said that efforts are being made to track the leopard. “We have repeatedly cautioned people in forest-fringe villages to remain alert, particularly children, amid reports of increased wild animal activity, ” he said. [KNT]
