
SRINAGAR: Security forces arrested a man and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir late on Wednesday night, officials said.
A senior police officer confirmed that a joint patrolling party of the police and the Army’s 54 Rashtriya Rifles apprehended the suspect, identified as Sachin Kumar, son of Seejay Kumar, a resident of Sair, Nowshera, from the Raipur area of the sector at around late night.
During the search, two foreign-made pistols (Turkey/China-made), four magazines and 15 live rounds were recovered from him, he said.
A case under relevant sections of the Arms Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Nowshera police station and further investigation is underway. he added. (KNC)
