New Delhi, Aug 7: MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel platform, has announced the launch of its new GenAI-enabled Trip Planning Assistant, a major step forward in making travel planning more intuitive, inclusive, and conversational. This multilingual assistant enhances user experience by supporting natural voice and text interactions, enabling seamless travel planning from inspiration to booking — all in one conversational flow.

Built on an Agentic AI framework, the new assistant significantly upgrades the existing AI agent, Myra. It supports trip planning across categories including flights, hotels, holidays, transport, visas, and forex, and is designed to handle complex, open-ended travel queries with personalised responses in real-time.

Currently available in English and Hindi, the Beta version of the assistant will soon expand to include multiple Indian languages, enabling users across the country — particularly those less comfortable with English — to plan and book trips with ease.

With the ability to process conversational queries such as, “Where can I go in August for a relaxing holiday with my kids?” or “Mujhe Udaipur mein 3-star hotel 3500 ke budget mein chahiye,” Myra offers real-time suggestions based on availability, pricing, and preferences. The assistant allows users to edit itineraries, get in-trip support, and manage post-sales interactions — all within a single, multimodal interface supporting voice, text, images, and video.

What sets Myra apart is its end-to-end functionality, bridging the gap between travel inspiration and confirmed bookings, unlike most AI platforms that stop at recommendations.

Speaking at the launch, Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, said: “We have always believed that technology should simplify complex problems behind the scenes while offering users a seamless and delightful experience. With GenAI, we’re turning intent into action through natural, human-like conversations. By offering access in Hindi and soon in other Indian languages, we’re extending the power of intelligent travel booking to the Bharat heartland — reaching travellers who have traditionally been underserved by digital platforms.”
