
SRINAGAR: An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 struck the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Sunday, officials said.
According to seismic data, the tremor occurred at 01:25:57 IST on March 1, 2026. The epicentre was located at latitude 33.08°N and longitude 76.17°E, with a shallow depth of 5 kilometres.
The shallow depth of the quake led to mild tremors being felt in and around the district. However, there were no immediate reports of damage to property or loss of life at the time of filing this report.
Authorities are monitoring the situation.
