LoP Sharma Meets LG, Pushes for Exam Age Relaxation | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Thursday met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhawan, Jammu, to press for the long-standing demand of age relaxation for candidates appearing in combined competitive examinations across Jammu Kashmir.

Sharma told the LG that numerous aspirants and delegations had approached him over recent weeks, seeking intervention on the issue of upper-age limits in various recruitment processes. He also highlighted that many candidates had written to him, citing difficulties caused by age restrictions and repeated delays in recruitment cycles.

During the meeting, Sharma presented the collective concerns of the youth and urged the LG to consider granting age relaxation in view of the aspirations of thousands of candidates.

The Office of the Leader of Opposition stated that the LG gave a patient hearing to the matter. Sharma expressed hope that the administration would take a positive decision to safeguard the future of deserving aspirants.

Sharma further noted that the LG assured the youth he would continue to follow up on the issue until a favourable outcome is achieved.
