Jammu: The Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Lok Bhavan, of Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday dismissed as “misleading” the social media claims alleging its role in the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming JKPSC examination.

In a detailed clarification on X, the LG’s office said that no proposal regarding the postponement or restructuring of the exam schedule was ever sent to Lok Bhavan. It said the only file received on December 2 pertained strictly to the matter of age relaxation for candidates.

According to the statement, the file was examined and returned the same day with a query on whether the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission could feasibly conduct the exam on December 7 while incorporating last-minute changes to eligibility criteria. “Despite the lapse of four days, no response was received on logistical feasibility,” the office said, rejecting allegations that delays originated from the LG administration.

The statement noted that the Lieutenant Governor understands the concerns of aspirants but stressed the need for procedural clarity and timely communication when dealing with large recruitment examinations.

The LG’s office also referred to the exam timeline, pointing out that JKPSC had issued the advertisement on August 22, 2025, and notified candidates on November 6 that the examination would take place on December 7.
