
Srinagar, Feb 23: Kashmir Markaz Adab o Saqafat has expressed grief over the demise of distinguished teacher, noted poet, author and literary figure Ghulam Rasool Sadoori, who passed away in his native town of Charar-e-Sharief.
Literary circles have termed his passing as a great loss to the cultural and literary landscape of Kashmir. In this connection, a condolence meeting was convened by the organisation under the predentship of Dr Ghazanfar Ali Ghazal, who is also the President of the organisation.
The meeting was attended by General Secretary Inayat Gul, Media Secretary Mushtaq Muharram and other members, who paid rich tributes to the departed soul. The speakers observed that late Sadoori was a beloved teacher of Charar-e-Sharief area , a poet of high calibre and the author of several books. He was also a founding member and Vice President of Kashmir Markaz Adab o Saqafat. They stated that he remained actively engaged in the promotion and development of the Kashmiri language and literature till his last breath.
Eminent scholar and writer Prof Mohammad Zaman Azurda, while paying glowing tributes to Sadoori, described his poetry as a priceless treasure of Kashmiri heritage and language, reflecting morality, spirituality and universal human emotions.
