SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called upon entrepreneurs and eminent personalities from diverse fields to channel their efforts towards strengthening key sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, making them more resilient and people-centric.

Speaking at the ‘Big Impact Awards 2026’ organised by 92.7 Big FM in Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor said entrepreneurs in the Union Territory are building strong identities through innovation under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, despite challenges such as raw material constraints and market expansion hurdles.

He said these innovators have successfully increased production capacities and diversified markets, contributing to the broader national vision of self-reliance.

Highlighting reforms at the national level, the Lieutenant Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has transitioned from a consumer-based economy to a creator-driven ecosystem, emerging as a global innovation hub.

He said the ongoing industrial transformation is a result of sustained policy reforms and the commitment of entrepreneurs who have turned challenges into opportunities.

“True entrepreneurship lies in converting crises into opportunities,” the Lieutenant Governor said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir’s business community has demonstrated resilience and creativity in difficult conditions.

Referring to the education sector, he said significant transformation has taken place post-National Education Policy (NEP) and during the COVID-19 pandemic, when stakeholders rapidly adopted digital platforms to ensure continuity of learning.

He added that technology integration and NEP-driven reforms are helping shape a knowledge-based economy and positioning India as a global innovation leader.

The Lieutenant Governor also suggested including the farming community in future editions of the awards to recognise their contribution to Jammu and Kashmir’s economy.

He further called upon media platforms to actively support awareness campaigns under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

The event was attended by senior officials, representatives of 92.7 Big FM, media professionals and distinguished guests from various sectors.
