LG Sinha to Flag Off Amarnath Yatra from Jammu on July 2; Reviews Preparedness at Base Camp

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday visited the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, to review the arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra scheduled to begin on July 3.

During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor inspected facilities including food, lodging, registration counters, power and water supply, health care, sanitation, help desks, transportation, and emergency services for the pilgrims.

He interacted with devotees and extended best wishes for a safe and smooth pilgrimage. Speaking to media persons, LG Sinha said a large number of pilgrims from across the country have already arrived in Jammu for the yatra, which he termed a “lifelong and spiritually significant experience.”

He said improved arrangements have been made this year for the convenience of the pilgrims and called for upholding Jammu and Kashmir’s traditions of hospitality and service during the pilgrimage.

The 38-day-long Amarnath JYatra will be flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor on July 2 from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp and will conclude on August 9.

The LG was accompanied by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, ADG CRPF Rajesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya, and other senior officials from civil and security departments.
