Srinagar, Jul 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the final preparations for the Amarnath Yatra on Tuesday.
Chairing a high-level meeting with the senior officers and reviewing the final preparations for Amarnath Yatra, LG Sinha took a comprehensive review of the traffic and security management and all the arrangements in place by the stakeholder departments for the smooth, safe, and hassle-free Amarnath Yatra.
He directed the officials to widespread publicity of the traffic advisory so that people do not face inconvenience.
“District administrations, SSPs, Traffic Police, and stakeholder departments should work in close coordination to ensure movement of yatris in designated convoys and smooth implementation of the traffic plan,” the LG said.
He directed the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to ensure that lodgement centres and sanitation units are in good condition.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra; DGP Nalin Prabhat; Special Director General (Coordination), PHQ, S J M Gillani; Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti; Principal Secretary, Finance Santosh D Vaidya; ADGP CID Nitish Kumar; Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO SASB Mandeep K Bhandari, and senior officials of SASB, Police, and civil administration.
LG VISITS YATRI NIWAS AT BHAGWATI NAGAR JAMMU
LG Sinha also visited Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and reviewed arrangements for the Amarnath Yatris.
He took stock of food and lodging of the yatris, security, registration counters, power and water supply, health facilities, help desks, sanitation, transportation, and emergency services.
At Yatri Niwas, the LG interacted with devotees of Baba Barfani and extended his warm wishes to yatris for a safe, blessed and spiritually fulfilling experience.
Addressing the media persons on the sidelines of his visit, he said that a large number of devotees from across the country have arrived for the Yatra, which begins from Jammu tomorrow morning.
“Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is a serene, enlightening and lifelong experience. May their pilgrimage be filled with joy, peace, and spiritual bliss. Improved arrangements have been made for the convenience of the pilgrims. We must carry forward the traditions of J&K and make this yatra a huge success,” LG Sinha said.
The 38-day-long Amarnath Yatra will commence on July 3 from the base camp on both routes, and it will culminate on August 9, 2025.
The Yatra will be flagged off by the LG on July 2 from Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar.
He was accompanied by DGP Nalin Prabhat; ADG CRPF, Rajesh Kumar; Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar; IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and senior officials from civil administration, Police, and security forces.
LG attends ‘Tawi Aarti’
LG Sinha also attended the ‘Tawi Aarti’ at Tawi Riverfront Jammu.
He sought the blessings of Suryaputri River Tawi and Baba Barfani and prayed for a peaceful, blessed and a memorable pilgrimage for all the devotees.
“Entire J&K is experiencing spiritual bliss on the eve of holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji. People of J&K are ready to welcome devotees of Baba Barfani coming from across the country. May Lord Shiva bless everyone with health, happiness and harmony,” the LG said.
LG FLAGS OFF AMBULANCES FOR HOSPITALS IN RAMBAN, ANANTNAG
LG Sinha also flagged off the fleet of ambulances for the hospitals in Ramban and Anantnag Districts.
A total of five ambulances were donated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) through M/S Quazigund Expressway Private Limited for Hospitals at Qazigund, Banihal, Ramban, Batote, and Gool, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The deployment of the Ambulances will strengthen emergency healthcare services and ensure timely medical care to the people.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the NHAI and M/S Quazigund Expressway Private Limited for their noble initiative.
He also asked the Deputy Commissioner Ramban to explore the possibilities for Hospital on Wheels for the remote areas of the district to ensure equitable and quality healthcare to all.
Principal Secretary to LG and CEO Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), Dr Mandeep K Bhandari; Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Muhammad Alyas Khan; NHAI Regional Officer, J&K, RS Yadav; senior officials of NHAI and representatives of M/S Quazigund Expressway Private Limited were also present on the occasion at Raj Bhawan.
