Srinagar, July 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Indian Army on Thursday congratulated Jammu resident soldier Rajat Charak on winning gold medal at Wushu Asia Cup held in Jilin, China.
LG stated that Charak’s stellar performance has brought immense pride to Jammu and Kashmir, and the entire nation. He wished the soldier continuous success for future endeavours.
Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter), Office of LG J&K said: “Congratulations to proud son of Jammu & valiant soldier of Indian Army, Rajat Charak on winning Gold medal at Wushu Asia Cup held in Jilin,China”.
“His stellar performance has brought immense pride to J&K and the entire nation. I wish him continued success & glory in times to come,” Office of LG J&K said on X.

Indian Army also extended greetings to Charak and another soldier for achieving the feat.
In a post on X, ADG PI – Indian Army said: “Indian Army Wushu Players triumphed at the 2nd Wushu Sanda Asian Cup held at Jilin, China from 02 to 07 July 2025. Their stellar performances have brought laurels to the Nation and underscored the strength of India’s sporting ecosystem nurtured within the #IndianArmy”
Naib Subedar Rajat Charak won gold medal under 90 kg category, while Naib Subedar Vikrant Baliyan, another soldier of Indian Army bagged gold under 75 kg category.
“The Indian Army remains steadfast in its commitment for nurturing champions on the global stage,” Indian Army said on X.
