The Leh Apex Body (LAB) has decided to suspend talks with the Central Government / Home Ministry’s High Powered Committee until normalcy is restored in Ladakh.

• They have set preconditions for resuming dialogue, including:
• A judicial inquiry (headed preferably by a retired Supreme Court judge) into the police firing on September 24.
• Unconditional release of all detainees (including major activists) and revoking charges against them.
• Withdrawal of the designation of protestors or leaders as “anti-national” or linking them to foreign powers.
•The decision was taken unanimously within the LAB.
• LAB has said it would reconsider talks on October 6 only if its demands are met.
