Kupwara: The district administration Kupwara on Thursday airlifted three critically ill patients from Tangdhar to Sub District Hospital Kupwara for urgent medical treatment, following severe road conditions caused by recent snowfall.
Officials informed Alfaaz – The Words that the roads in the higher reaches had turned slippery and unsafe, making ground transportation difficult. The patients were shifted by air to ensure timely medical intervention.
Hospital authorities in the meantime said that all three are undergoing treatment and are being provided necessary medical care.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse said the administration remains available round the clock to assist the public. He urged residents, particularly those living in snowbound and high altitude areas, to contact the district administration at any time for help in emergencies.

They added that efforts were made on a war-footing to restore essential services, including road connectivity and power supply, after heavy snowfall disrupted normal life in several areas of the district.
