KPDCL Schedules Power Shutdown in Several Kashmir Areas | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Power supply will remain suspended in several areas of Kashmir on different dates this week due to scheduled maintenance and shutdowns of 33 KV transmission lines, the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said on Wednesday.

According to the official statement, a shutdown of the 33 KV Achabal–Cherpora tapline will be observed on March 12, affecting electricity supply to Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm.

On the same day, the 33 KV Tral-II line will also remain shut, resulting in power disruption to Batagund, Lurgam, Nanar, Taki, Laam, Jawaharpora, Aripal, Khangund, Sathoora and neighbouring areas between 8 am and 2 pm.

Meanwhile, the 33 KV Nehalpora–Gulmarg line will undergo shutdown on March 14 and March 18, leading to power outages in Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Mulgam, Khyber, Base Station, Cable Car, Kulhama, Chandil, Kralweth, Wantoo, Reram and adjoining areas from 8 am to 1:30 pm.

In addition, a shutdown of the 33 KV tapline of the Tral-I line from Nowdal Tap will be carried out on March 14, affecting electricity supply to Tral-i-Payeen, Devar, Pinglish, Chewa, Kahlil, Tral Bala, Bajwani and nearby areas from 8 am to 2 pm.

KPDCL said the shutdowns are necessary to carry out essential maintenance and urged consumers in the affected areas to bear with the temporary inconvenience.
