KPDCL Schedules Power Cuts for Maintenance Work Across Multiple Areas

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in various parts of Srinagar and Baramulla districts between July 12 and 17 to facilitate essential grid and line maintenance works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown is necessary for carrying out works related to the evacuation of power from the GIS Grid Station at Harwan. As a result, the 33KV Burzhama Tap line will be shut down on July 12 and 14 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Consequently, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Burzhama will remain off during this period, affecting electricity supply to Danihama, Khimber, Chatterhama, Teilbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shopperbagh, Gulab Bagh, Batapora and adjoining areas.

In Baramulla district, a shutdown of the 33KV Baramulla-1st line has been scheduled for July 12 and 17 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM to facilitate branch cutting of trees and the insertion of ST poles at STC Sheeri. During these hours, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Baramulla-I, Kanlibagh and GMC Baramulla will remain off, impacting power supply to Baramulla town and surrounding areas including Kanlibagh and the Government Medical College, Baramulla.

Additionally, on July 15, a shutdown of the 33KV PHE Watlab Tap line will take place between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM for the installation of an isolator by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department. Power supply to Quinsoo, Watlab, Warpora and adjoining areas will remain affected during this period.

KPDCL has advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, reiterating that the shutdowns are crucial for strengthening the power infrastructure in the region.
