KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Srinagar, South Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited) has issued a shutdown schedule for several 33 kV transmission lines, resulting in temporary power disruptions across Srinagar and parts of South Kashmir on multiple dates in April 2026.

According to the announcement, the 33 kV Cheshmashahi–TRC–Nedous line will remain under shutdown on April 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting power supply to the Dal Lake area.

Similarly, shutdowns of the 33 kV Bemina–Fatehkadal and 33 kV Bemina–Barbarshah lines are scheduled on April 1, 5, and 7, 2026, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. These will impact several areas including KK Moulla, Nowpora, Bohri Kadal, Badademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisadak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, Car Parking, Maisuma Bazar and adjoining localities.

In South Kashmir, the 33 kV Achabal–Cherpora tap line will remain shut on April 2 and 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora and nearby areas.

Additionally, the 33 kV Kanipora–Keller line will be shut down on April 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, leading to power disruption in Keller, Moshward, Hotline, Hospital area, Nadpora, Kanipora, Drabgam, Shadimarg, Qasbyar, Kalampora, Dompora and adjoining localities.

The department has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled maintenance work.
