KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Wednesday announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts of the Valley, citing maintenance and upgradation works on multiple 33 KV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, the 33 KV Baramulla–1st line will remain shut on November 6, 2025  from  9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, affecting power supply to Baramulla Main Town, Khanpora, Kanlibagh, Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, DC Office and adjoining areas. The Baramulla–I, Kanlibagh, and GMC Baramulla receiving stations will remain non-operational during this period.

Similarly, a power shutdown has been scheduled for the 33 KV Baramulla–2nd line on November 2, 2025 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., impacting the Drangbal, Bagh-i-Islam, Sheeri and adjoining areas. The Baramulla–II, Drangbal, Bagh-i-Islam, and Sheeri receiving stations will remain off during the shutdown.

The Chief Engineer further informed that the 33 KV Handwara Old line will also undergo maintenance shutdowns on October 30 and and November 2, 4 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. Power supply to Zachaldara, Adoora, Changmulla and neighbouring areas will remain affected as the respective receiving stations will remain off during these intervals.

In South Kashmir, the 33 KV Bat koot–Pahalgam Tap line will be shut down on October 30, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, affecting Batkoot, Pahalgam, AIS and GIS receiving stations. Consequently, power supply to Batkoot, Pahalgam and surrounding areas will remain disrupted.

Similarly, the 33 KV Mattan–Pahalgam line will undergo shutdown on November 1, 2025 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., impacting Hutmurrah, Seer, Akad, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Saller, Pahalgam and adjoining localities. The Hutmurrah, Aish muqam, Batkoot, Salia, Saller, Pahalgam AIS and GIS receiving stations will remain off during this period.

Furthermore, the 33 KV Awantipora–Khiram Tap line will be shut on November 1,3,5, and 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., resulting in suspension of power supply to Khiram, Mahind and nearby areas, as the Khiram receiving station will remain closed.

KPDCL has advised residents in the affected areas to plan accordingly and expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused due to essential maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the region’s power infrastructure.
