SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of planned power outages across parts of Srinagar and Pulwama districts this month to facilitate maintenance and upgradation works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and other stabilisation activities.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, the 33KV Khanda Tap line will remain shut from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on 14 and 19 August for conductor stringing, affecting the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Khanda. This will disrupt electricity supply to Chattergam, Magraypora, Suthsoo, Gowherpora and adjoining areas.
Similarly, on August 18 and 21, branch cutting, pole erection and stabilisation works will require a shutdown of the 33KV Pampore BK Pora line from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., impacting the BK Pora, Khanda and Summerbugh Receiving Stations. Areas including BK Pora, Khanda, Checkpora, Chattergam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Wagoora, Airbagh, Chackpora and nearby localities will face outages.
In a related move, the 33KV Pampore Wagoora line will be shut on August 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., suspending supply to Pohroo and Kadlabal Receiving Stations. Consumers in Pahroo, Kadlabal, Gas Plant, FGCIL and surrounding areas will be affected.
Meanwhile, augmentation and stabilisation of the 33KV Pampore–SIDCO line will necessitate outages on August 17 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., impacting the Pampore-I and Pampore-II Receiving Stations. This will hit power supply to Frestibal, Khadarmoh, Kadlabal, ITBP, Zewan, JKEDI, Drangbal, Namblabal, Tulbagh and nearby areas.
On the same day, a shutdown of the Pampore–SIDCO line will also affect Cement Plants in Khrew and IE Khrew from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., cutting electricity to IE Khrew, Khrew Cement Plants, Wuyan and surrounding areas.
