
SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in Srinagar and Anantnag districts on September 16, 18 and 20 to carry out repair and stabilisation works.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the 33KV Habbak–Burzuhama line will remain shut on September 16 from 9 am to 3 pm to facilitate power evacuation from GIS Harwan. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Burzuhama will remain off, affecting supply to Danihama, Khimber, Teilbal, Burzuhama, Shoperbagh, Rahbagh, Gulabagh and adjoining areas.
Similarly, the 33KV Exhibition line will be shut on September 18 from 8 am to 2 pm for replacement of a damaged auxiliary cable at the Receiving Station GIS Batamaloo. This will disrupt supply to Batamaloo, Moominabad and adjoining areas.
In a separate schedule, KPDCL said the 33KV Mattan–Pahalgam line will remain shut on September 18 and 20 from 9 am to 3 pm to complete leftover stabilisation work delayed due to SANJY-2025. The shutdown will affect 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Salia, Hutmurrah, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Sallar, Pahalgam (AIS) and Pahalgam (GIS), disrupting supply to Pahalgam, Batkoot, Aishmuqam, Seer, Sallar, Akad, Hutmurrah, Salia and adjoining areas.
KPDCL said the temporary shutdowns are necessary for system improvement and appealed to consumers for cooperation.
