KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown Across Several Districts | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Saturday announced a series of planned power shutdowns next week that will affect large parts of Srinagar and north Kashmir as teams carry out work on 33 kV and 132 kV lines.

KPDCL said the 33 kV Nihalpora–Gulmarg line will be shut down from 10 AM to 03 PM on January 11, 2026 and January 14, 2026, affecting Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Khyber, Base Station, Cable Car and adjoining areas. The 33 kV Ganapora Tap line will be off from 10 AM to 03 PM on January 12, 2026 and January 15, 2026, cutting supply to Safalpora, Ganapora, Renin, Langae and nearby pockets.

The corporation further scheduled a shutdown of the 33 kV Shariefabad–Wadwan and 33 kV Shariefabad–Narbal lines from 12 Noon to 03 PM on January 12, 2026. That interruption will affect Shariefabad, Durbal, Soibugh, Bonpora, Astanpora, Wadwan, Cheki, Hathran, Hanjikpora, Dharmuna, Russu, Gotpora, Pymus, Narbal, Kawoosa, Lawaypora, Sozeith, Sanoor, Malpora, Redbugh, Railway Station Mazhama and adjoining areas.

KPDCL also announced shutdowns on the 33 kV Rawalpora–Baghimehtab line on January 11, 2026 and January 15, 2026 from 10 AM to 03 PM, affecting Baghimehtab, Kralpora, Mochwa, Old Mochwa and surrounding localities. The 33 kV Rawalpora–Chanapora line will be shut from 10 AM to 03 PM on January 15, 2026, disrupting supply to Chanapora, Naikbagh, Natipora, Baghat, Sanat Nagar and adjoining areas.

A separate interruption of the 33 kV Ichgam–Kanir Tap line is scheduled for January 11, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 03 PM, affecting Barwah, Nowpora, Kanir, Hushur, Zuhama, Hanjoora and nearby areas. The 132 kV and 33 kV switchyard at the 132/33 kV, 140 MVA Cheshmashahi substation will be shut from 10 AM to 03 PM on January 12, 2026, impacting Brane, Nishat, Dalband, Shalimar, Centaur, B B Cantt., Buchwara, Nedous, TRC, Sonwar, Badamibagh, GB Pant and adjoining localities.

Finally, a combined shutdown of the 33 kV Rawalpora–Chanapora and Rawalpora–Baghimehtab lines is slated for January 19, 2026 from 10 AM to 03 PM, affecting Chanapora, Naikbagh, Natipora, Baghat, Sanat Nagar, Baghmehtab, Kralpora, Mochwa and surrounding areas.

KPDCL said these outages are part of scheduled works on transmission and distribution lines. Consumers in the listed localities should note the timings and make necessary arrangements.
