KPDCL Announces Multiple Scheduled Power Shutdowns | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple districts over the coming days to facilitate maintenance and related works on key transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, a shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore–BK Pora line, 33 kV Ahmadpora–Beerwah line and 33 kV Ahmadpora–Magam line will be observed on December 17 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. As a result, power supply to Aribagh, Chattergam, Kenihama, Khanda, Wadipora, Beerwah, Sonpah, Najan, Arizal, Zanigam, Gandipora, Doodhpathri, Arwah, Mazhama, Old Sanoor, Aripanthan, Magam, Wariahama, Budren and adjoining areas will remain affected.

Similarly, the 33 kV Nihalpora–Gulmarg line will remain shut on December 16 and 20 between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, impacting electricity supply to Tangmarg, Gulmarg Base Station, Kulhama, Babareshi Shrine, Mulgam, Khyber, Wanigam, Malpora and nearby localities.

KPDCL has also scheduled shutdowns of the 33 kV Nihalpora–Pattan line on December 17 and 21 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, affecting Pattan, Zangam, Hanjiwera, Buran, Hospital area, Hamray, Wanigam and adjoining areas.

In south Kashmir, the 33 kV Wanpoh–Qazigund line will be shut on December 16 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, disrupting power supply to Mirbazar, Vessu, Akhran, Razloo, Panzath, YK Pora and surrounding areas.

Additionally, shutdowns of the 33 kV Wanpoh–Ashajipora, Wanpoh–Malaknag and 33 kV Wanpoh–Anantnag (Sarnal) lines are scheduled on December 16 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Areas likely to be affected include Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Mirbazar, Schichen, Brinty, Malaknag, Reshibazar, Janglatmandi, Shirpora, Bulbul-Nowgam, Thajiwara, Brakpora, Harnag, Wanpoh, Nai Basti, Sarnal, Anchidora, Akura, Army Garrison, Dak Bungalow and adjoining localities.

Meanwhile, the 33 kV Bemina–JVC line will remain shut on December 17 and 21 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, affecting power supply to JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Laboratory, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana and nearby areas.

KPDCL has advised consumers to bear with the inconvenience and cooperate during the shutdown period, stating that the works are essential for maintaining reliable power infrastructure.
