KPDCL Announces Multiple Power Shutdowns for Maintenance

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in various parts of Srinagar and Anantnag districts between August 23 and 30 to facilitate ongoing maintenance, upgradation, and line stabilisation works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 33 KV Mattan-Pahalgam line will undergo shutdown on August 26, 28, and 30 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM to complete the remaining stabilisation work that was delayed due to SANJY-2025. As a result, power supply from 33/11 KV receiving stations at Salia, Hutmurrah, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, GIS/AIS Pahalgam will remain off. The outage will affect areas including Pahalgam, Batkoot, Aishmuqam, Seer, Saller, Akad, Hutmurrah, Salia, and nearby localities.

Similarly, to carry out structural upgrades and pole replacement at Narwara, the 33 KV Wanganpora-Takenwari-BAMK line will be shut down on August 24 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. This will affect the Takanwari receiving station, leading to outages in Shanglipora, Sangam, and adjoining areas.

Additionally, on the same day, shutdowns of the 33 KV Wanganpora-Khanyar-Rainawari line and GIS Nowshera-BAMK line will be enforced. The shutdown of the former will occur between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, affecting Khanyar and Rainawari receiving stations and resulting in power cuts in Miskeen Bagh, Rozabal, Maqdoom Sahib, Radhpora, Hazari Bagh, Nowhatta, Jogilankar (partially), JLNM Hospital, Kondabal, Hassanabad, and surrounding areas.

The GIS Nowshera-BAMK line will be shut from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on August 24, affecting Industries, Raja Colony, Zadibal, Bota Kadal, Gili Kadal, BSNL Exchange, and adjacent neighbourhoods.

Furthermore, a separate shutdown has been announced for the 33 KV Badampora–Safapora Tap line on August 23 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, to allow branch cutting and stabilisation works. Power supply to Safapora, Gratbal, Jarakobagh, Manasbal, and nearby areas will be interrupted during this period.

KPDCL has advised residents of the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and has assured that power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of maintenance activities.
